OBITUARIES

Dorothy (Dot) Gittins Adamson, 88, of Colorado Springs, CO, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Terry Hutfles in Littleton, CO following an extended illness. Graveside services for Mrs. Adamson will be held at 9:30 am Friday, July 18 at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO, with son-in-law Charles Porter
officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of All Veterans Burial and Cremation, Wheat Ridge, CO.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Fountain First United Methodist Church in Fountain, CO with
Rev. Steve Earnshaw officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to SolAmor Hospice, 7950 E. Prentice Ave, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 or to Fountain First United Methodist Church, 1003 N Santa Fe, Fountain, CO 80817.

Dorothy Adamson was born 10/04/19 in Coraopolis, PA, the daughter of William and Goldie Gittins.  She grew up and received her education in Coraopolis. She was married to James E. Adamson on 10/22/40 and celebrated 67 years of marriage. Dot and James raised four daughters in Janesville, WI. Dot was a Girl Scout leader and worked with the
elderly.  She assisted her husband as he managed MacFarlane Pheasant Farm for forty years. In 1980 they relocated to Colorado Springs, CO where they managed Fuego Fireplace and Mini-U-Storage in Colorado Springs.

Dorothy was an active member at Fountain First United Methodist Church in Fountain where she volunteered with food and clothing distribution. She belonged to the United Methodist Women.  She was known for her excellent baking
abilities and her sincere interest in others. Dot loved to garden, to bake and had a gift of hospitality, but most of all, she loved God, her family and friends.

Mrs. Adamson is survived by her husband James; four daughters, Donna Gilbert (Jerry Delling) of Monticello, WI, Linda Porter (Charles) of Bartlesville, OK, Vickie Ritchie (Mick) of Chippewa Falls, WI, and Patricia Hutfles (Terry) of Littleton, CO; eight grandchildren, Michael Eichorst (Heidi), John Eichorst (Kattua, Stephanie Zoske (Mark), all of Mt. Horeb, WI, Genevieve Johnson (Andy) of Muncie, IN, Danielle Wolf (Chris) of Indianapolis, IN, Michael Porter of Bartlesville, OK, Craig Dean of Janesville, WI, and Eric Smith of Aurora, CO; and six great grandchildren Marca, David, and Hannah Eichorst, Luke and Gretta Zoske all of Mt. Horeb, WI, Caeden Wolf of Indianapolis, IN and Parker Johnson of Muncie, IN; two brothers, Melvin Sewickley (Renee) of PA and Robert Gittins (Eileen) of Aliquippa, PA; two sisters-in-law, Jean Johnson and Helen Street of Marion, IN; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Adamson was
preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Howard Gittins, and one niece, Michelle Gittins.
