OBITUARIES

Louis Shupe retired TSgt, 79, of Colorado Springs , CO passed away Friday, September 12, 2008 . He was born October 1, 1928 in Portland , Maine to Mary ( Lake ) Shupe and Arthur Panagu.

Louis enlisted in the Air Force in 1947. He served in Air Force intelligence and was stationed on Guam during the Korean War. He retired from Ent AFB in 1967 after 20 years of service. He continued his career in Civil Service at Peterson AFB, retiring in 1993.

Louis married Mollie Irene (Brown) on April 9, 1960 in London , England . He loved traveling, gardening, cooking, playing cards, stamps and coin collecting.

He is survived by his wife Mollie; his brother Thomas Shupe of Palm Springs, CA; daughters Elaine Shea of Security and Michele Sherwood of Anchorage, AK; sons Paul Shupe of Longmont and David Shupe of Los Angeles, CA; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, September 19, 2008 and Memorial Service will be at 10 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Dove-Witt Mortuary in Fountain. The graveside service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs .

Andre' Gilberto Jacelon of Widefield died Aug. 8, 2008.

He was born June 26, 1940 in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago of the West Indies

He served in the United States Army for 20 years before retiring in 1980. He completed two tours of Vietnam with the 498 th Air Ambulance “Dust Off' Company and one tour of duty in Korea . He earned the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device , Vietnam Service Medal with 6 Bronze Service Stars, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, Air Medal with 8 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal, Senior Aircraft Crewman Badge, Good Conduct Medal with 6 th award and Aircraft Crewman Badge.

He was a 4 th degree member of the Knight of Columbus and the VFW, both in Security, and the American Legion in Fountain. He was also a member of the Retired Enlisted Association and the DUSTOFF Association.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Karin; his son, Tony Jacelon and his fiancé, Rhonda Smith, and family; his daughter, Andrea (Gary) Brumfield (both of Colorado Springs); his sisters, Jacqueline and Diane; his brother, Louie; and three grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas and Zachary.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tony.

Memorial services and a Mass were held on Aug. 14 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Security. Full military honors followed.

Donations can be made in André's name to Holy Family Catholic Church.

All who knew him will miss him.

Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home in Colorado Springs was in charge of services.
