Federal mandates may force the City of Fountain to implement a program to manage pollutants in storm water drainage, imposing fees on all taxpayers to cover costs.
This program must be fully up and running by the end of 2007, or the city will face fines and penalties from property owners and other cities.

Live Well Fountain’s gardening program is in full swing, and they want you to join them. On Sat., July 21, members of the Live Well Fountain organization gathered beside the Fountain Fire Department to convert what was a vacant lot to a rich and fertile garden spot. The soil has been prepared and planters built, but there’s still a lot of work to do..

I'm ready for my spotlight

Fran Carrick (left) recently hosted an annual barrel riding clinic, taught by World Champion Barrel Racer Connie Combs. Also present were Patti Magby, Principal of Meadowview Elementary School in Castle Rock, who took up barrel racing as a hobby; Alex Epping, the youngest rider of the group, also a hobbyist; Colorado Springs DA investigator Micah Manner; mom and hobbyist Caroline Rasner from Casper, WY and Gina Scheck of Casper, a 4-H and other venue competitive rider and State Court judicial assistant. Assisting at the clinic was Carrick’s daughter, Kim Carrick-Bartkowski, Olympic Committee business coordinator.
