Marcelle Bruley

Our Beloved Mother, Grandma, and Great Grandma, Marcelle Cornick Bruley, 90, a long-time resident of Widefield, began her next journey on July 19, 2007.
Marcy was born in Northwood, IA to Delos and Grace Cornick. She spent her early years growing up in Albert Lea, MN. Marcy married the only love of her life, Henry L. Bruley on November 6, 1939. Henry joined the US Army and together they traveled around the United States, Puerto Rico, and Korea. Marcy was very supportive of her husband’s career and was dedicated in her role as an officer’s wife and homemaker.
They officially retired in Widefield, CO in 1969. Henry preceded her in death in 1971. Marcy stayed in Widefield to help raise her two grandchildren, Julie and Bryan Kelly. Bryan preceded her in death in 1987.
Marcy was very active with the El Paso County election department. She was an election volunteer for many, many years. Marcy also volunteered at the medical clinics and the hospital on Fort Carson.
Marcy is survived by her daughter, Patricia Kelly; granddaughter, Julie Kelly; and great grandsons, Connor Houtchens, Travis Houtchens, and Austin Figge. She is also survived by a sister, Florence Matz; her brothers, Daryl Cornick (and Helen) and Roger Cornick (and Donna); many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends both here in Colorado Springs and in Minnesota.
Services will be Friday, July 27 in Albert Lea, MN.
A memorial in Colorado Springs will be held in August. The time and place for this memorial will be announced at a later date.
Grandma I know you are now where you want to be. I will miss you so very much. Love you lots. - Julie  

Cynthia L. Spah

Cynthia Laura Spah of Fountain passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 2007.
She was a dental assistant who had lived in the area for the past 42 years.
Cynthia was born February 4, 1965 in Killian, Texas to Tillman and Reiko (Tanaka) Thompson. She married Robert James Spah on June 7, 2001 at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Cynthia is survived by her husband, Robert; her children, Roman Chavez and Michael Chavez; her sister, Debbie Thompson; her brother, Michael Thompson and her mother, Reiko Thompson.
Visitation was July 19 and funeral services were July 20, at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel, 6630 S. Highway 85-87, Fountain with Pastor George Ericksen officiating.
