At long last, the rumors and speculation are at an end. The old Albertson’s is indeed slated to become a Ross outlet.
The closely protected secret was not revealed until the sign actually went up in the parking lot.
“This could lead to revitalizing the entire shopping center,” remarked Chamber of Commerce President Scott Turner. “We’re very excited to bring this retailer to the Fountain Valley.”
In Turner’s opinion, a new grocery store would not have been as competitive as a Ross outlet, because it would have to compete with Safeway and Wal-Mart. As new developments expand across the region, the clothing retailer will fill a vital market niche. Additionally, a Ross will provide jobs to local residents, boosting the economy.
The opening date is scheduled for Oct. 1.
