Cowbells to hold moving sale preview for locals
Cowbells Gift and Gourmet, located at 117 S. Main Street in downtown Fountain, will be having a moving sale throughout the month of June.
Prior to the sale’s beginning on June 11, the store will hold a moving sale preview for local residents on Saturday, June 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. The preview will feature light refreshments and great savings on a variety of selected gifts, gourmet foods, home accents, fine art, antiques and collectibles.
Cowbells will be moving to a location near to Woodland Park later this summer.

Craft vendors wanted for Farmers Markets
The Fountain Downtown Events Association will start hosting its Farmers Markets on Tuesday nights from 4-8 p.m. in front of Fountain City Hall beginning on June 12.
Craft vendors are being sought to add to the variety of offerings. Space fee is $10 per week. For more information call 237-5181.

Good Shepherd United Methodist Church news
Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Leta at Main in Security, invites you to a traditional worship service on Sundays at 9 a.m. and a REAL LIFE worship of Saturday nights at 6 p.m. This weekend, Rev. Tom Barlow’s sermon will be “Target Acquisition” from Romans 8:18-25. Both services are followed by fellowship time.
United Methodist Men will meet Saturday, June 9 at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast in Cooper Hall.
The Guatemalan Dinner in cooperation with Sunrise United Methodist Church will be on Friday, June 8, to raise funds for tools and supplies for their coming mission trip.
Father’s Day Brunch will be served by “Inner Light”, a womens group of GSUMC to honor the fathers of the church family. Save the morning of June 17 immediately after the morning service.

Newspaper, Security Fire Department to have coloring and writing contest with 4th of July theme
The Fountain Valley News / El Paso County Advertiser and News, in conjunction with the Security Fire Department, will hold a coloring and writing contest for kids in the Fountain Valley. The contest will have a 4th of July theme.
Entrants will be asked to draw a picture and write a short paragraph of what freedom means to them. Various prizes will be awarded and will be broken down into age groups. All entries will be hung at the Security Fire Department during the 4th of July Community Breakfast. The winning entries will also be published in the Fountain Valley News 4th of July Special Section, which will come out on June 27.
Entry forms will be printed in the June 13 and June 20. Forms will also be available online at FtnValleyNews.com next week
Farmers Markets begins next Tuesday
The Fountain Downtown Events Association will kick off its second summer of hosting Farmers Markets on Main Street (in the Fountain City Hall Plaza) next Tues., June 12, starting at 4 p.m.

Republican Club meets
The Fountain Valley Republican Club will have its next regular meeting on Monday, June 11, starting with a pot luck at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. District Attorney John Newsome will speak to the group.
The meeting will be held at the Fountain Valley Senior Center at 5725 Southmoor Drive in Fountain. Guests are welcome.
Historical Society meets
The Fountain Valley Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Mon., June 11, at the Museum Building located at 114 N. Main in Fountain.

The Retired Enlisted Association hosts fun day
A day of summer fun for all ages is planned for Sun., June 10 from noon to 4:30 p.m. Sponsored by The Retired Enlisted Association (TREA) Chapter 113 of Fountain, the event will include door prizes, a magician / balloon artist, music, a DJ and more.

Community Choir has openings for July 4th performance
If you love to sing you are invited to take part in a July 4th Salute to the Armed Forces by joining the Fountain Valley Community Choir.

Pantry has Shop Night
God’s Pantry, 102 N. Main St. Fountain, is holding its monthly Shop Night from 10 a.m. -8 p.m. Thursday. Goody bags will be given out. Donations are always welcome.

Teen summer reading program kicks off at SPL
The Teen Summer Reading Program, “You Never Know” is underway at Security Public Library and it’s time to have some FUN! Join us every Monday at 1:00, starting June 4th, for teen activity day. We’ll have days of crafts, games, and guest speakers. Also, every Wednesday at 1:00, starting June 6th, is teen movie day.
