Eloy S. Cruz, 84, born October 8, 1923 passed away June 4, 2008. Preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Jennie P. (Barela) Cruz; children, Lloyd C. (Erma Vega) Cruz, Lillian P. (Pablo R.) Torres and Veronica C. (James E.) Baggett; siblings, Willie Cruz, Evelyn Meadows, Viola Ramirez and Mary Cabrera; eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Eloy married the love of his life on October 5, 1946 in Pueblo.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a truck driver with Time DC/Teamsters for over 33 years.
Funeral services were June 7 at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel, 6630 S Hwy 85/87, Fountain. Interment was at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
David Quinn Darmody, 73, of Widefield passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at his home.
Mr. Darmody was born May 18, 1935 in Seattle to Quinn Edward and Margaret (Hancock) Adams.
He married the love of his life, Anna (Alapai) Darmody on April 27, 1957 in San Francisco.
He served in the U.S. Army for 23 years and retired with the rank of First Sergeant. He earned the National Defense Service Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; United Nations Service Medal; Korean Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with 6 Bronze Service Stars; Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device; Good Conduct Medal-1st Through 6th Awards; Bronze Star Medal with Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with 2 Bronze Stars; Army Commendation Medal; Drill sergeant ID Badge; Combat Infantryman Badge; Four Overseas Bars; Expert Badge with M-16 and Expert Badge with M-14.
Mr. Darmody was employed by Springs Gas Service, had his own small engine repair business and worked as a Charter Driver for Pikes Peak Tours.
He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3917 and Trea Chapter 1.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; daughters, Laura Fini, Leslie Loehr, Valerie Kuhel and Melissa Mazzillo; sister, Donna Mcginty; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
