Things I've learned

 I am always amazed at what I learn from our readers. Every now and then I do ask for help, and sometimes I stump you all. Recently I received three great packages of ideas. I was given a big box of newspapers from one of my friends from the museum. It is full of stories, not so much about Fountain, but all around us! Rather than just throw them out or recycle it, she offered it to me. I also received some newspapers with Fountain stories from an old friend who thought I might use them for here, OH YES! In the other case a friend came up with a bunch of 1940's Denver Posts that he saved when he found them under a floor in a house he was fixing up. I have loads of ideas here, but who knows what else might turn up.
I also recently received some news after I did the story about the strange little building across the street from the paper. I was sent the location of more of them. Some I already knew, but some I did not. In one case it was a house I see up in Colorado Springs. I used to walk to school right by this place that had two of these added to it in the 1950's! Not only that but in the back yard right next door, Wow, a fully restored one! Thanks for the ideas and directions. I even learned there are a couple in Canon City.
Now I recently talked about my enjoyment of breakfast. Yes, I like the biscuits and gravy at the truck stop, but thanks to the folks at the paper, I visited the Pizza Factory. I have been in there quite a few times when I was a teacher. One of my principals took us in their on special occasions and work days. I had forgotten something nice about that place. You can have a great lunch, but you can watch the railroad tracks through town! There is hardly anything better to do
Even if it is not breakfast!
I even heard a few new stories from a lady that works in the library. I learned she has talked to some of the members of the Historical Society, and got a few REALLY good stories that I had not heard. Anyway, it is good to know there are still some good stories out there still be dug up.
One last tidbit, you know I have been doing this for ten years! Amazing.......
