Kudos to Mayor Howells for seeking our own Veterans' Memorial

A few of the many reasons we are fortunate to have Jeri Howells as our mayor are her vast experience, not to mention her patriotism as well as awareness of and appreciation for the military families here.

Thatís why today, I applaud her for seeking to establish a memorial to those who have sacrificed all so we can continue to enjoy the many freedoms we tend to take for granted, and so our nation and much of the world can sleep more securely each night.

She has past experience in this venue, having worked diligently to get Aragon Elementary named in honor and memory of Jose Aragon, Fountainís first son to lose his life in Vietnam.

Recognizing such bravery and valor, as has been displayed by so many of our own seems the least we can do... Thanks, Mayor, for your consideration, wisdom and vision on this.
