Anna Jo Mathis passed peacefully into Gods arms on March 14, 2008, she was 82 years old. Anna Jo was known as Jody to her close friends and family. Jody was with family and friends, in addition to her three sons Stan, Mike and Kerry, at the time of her passing Friday afternoon. Mrs. Mathis was preceded in death by her loving husband Joe Allen Mathis in 2002. Jody was born on October 25, 1925, in Goodlett Texas to Tom and Idrese McCreary. Although Joe and Jody lost contact throughout much of Joe's deployment, upon his return in 1944 the two were married in Hayward, California. The young couple spent the next 58 years together, building a life long love. In 1954 they moved to Colorado Springs from Childress, Texas and in 1958 they settled their young family in Security, Colorado.
