Fire Chief most deserving of honor

What a pleasure it is for us (the entire News staff) to bring you the great story  in this issue written by our own talented reporter Linda Hobbs  about one of Fountain’s finest...
It is most fitting that Fountain Fire Chief Darin Anstine was recently honored by State Representative Marsha Looper for his outstanding service and achievements. He is most deserving of such a honor!

Not only does he put the community and our safety first and foremost in all he does, he has also worked hard to help rescue and treat injured animals in the past too. He is a friend to one and all here... and someone I am most proud to call a very dear friend! Congratulations on this great honor, Chief Anstine, you deserve it!!

Way to go, Judge
On a different note- three cheers for the judge who gave a tough sentence to famous athlete Michael Vick for his involvement in alleged dog-fighting. I was especially glad to hear the judge ordered Vick to apologize to all of the young people who had looked up to him. Our kids certainly need and deserve better role models. This judge counts as one in my book!
