Kudos to Keesers, FDEA

It is a real pleasure for us to feature on this issue’s front page the two and only Lou and Frank Keeser, who were honored recently for their good works here by the Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce as its 2007 Volunteers of the Year.

I have been blessed to know this dynamic duo for many many years and I couldn’t have picked a better pair for such an award myself! Having been involved in the chamber’s Volunteer of the Year awards in the past, I can attest to the fact they are in great company, just as I can tell you they had been nominated previously- coming very close to winning then!!

If you’ve heard of Fountain Valley C.A.R.E.S. then you likely know who Lou is, just as Frank is one of the leaders of our local Military Order of the Purple Heart. They’ve both given their time and talents to so many clubs and activities here, it would fill the pages of our paper to mention all of them. Suffice it to say this honor is much deserved and long overdue! Congratulations to a wonderful couple, and a couple of incredible samaritans!

I would also like congratulate President Lori Brazil, all of the board members and volunteers with the Fountain Downtown Events Association for recently being honored by the Fountain City Council and Mayor Howells. This hard-working group of volunteers logs many hours of donated time to plan and work at the awesome events they sponsor annual on Main Street. From the annual Blast Dance to Cowboy Christmas I continue to be amazed at how such a small group of good-hearted people can pull off these events attended by literally thousands. Way to go FDEA, way to go!
